Mr. Lepeesh Parat, holds a B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Government College of Engineering Sreekrishnapuram, Palakkad(Kerala state – India). Lepeesh is the founder of the ZestyBeanz group which is focused on Open Source IT(ERP) services and established in multiple countries.

He is one of the directors of Kerala Free Software Industries Association and also in the board of directors of Society for Alternative Computing and Employment in Kerala (SPACE). He is a frequent traveler across different continents to promote FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) business model and a member of the advisory board of International Center for Free and Open Source Software.

Awards & Achievements;

• Lepeesh is a proud winner of the prestigious ISBA-2011 award governed by the Dept of Science & Technology (Govt. Of India) for outstanding entrepreneurs in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) category.
• He was also conferred with the “Star Entrepreneur Award” at 5th Indira International Innovation Summit 2012 at Pune.
• In 2014, he was awarded the Kerala Sahrdaya Vedi Award for the Young Businessman of the year.
• Lepeesh was shortlisted as an eligible entrepreneur for funding by the Nuremberg Chamber of Commerce to set up business in Germany
• The Youth Welfare board of the state Govt. of Kerala in 2015 chose Lepeesh for its prestigious Swami Vivekananda Young entrepreneur award.
• Lepeesh continues to be an invited speaker at various organisations and events in India and abroad.
• Holding the Position of the Chairman of all Locations of ZestyBeanz worldwide.

Lepeesh began his career as Technical Consultant for Network Gulf IT Group. Even though he had an array of career options, he decided to take a bold risk to become an entrepreneur at a very young age. In 2008, Mr. Lepeesh started his own company named ZestyBeanz(Z-Beanz) Technologies in the Incubation Center(TBI) of Calicut NIT campus with an investment as low as Rs 8000 (~USD 150). The company was incorporated as Pvt Ltd in 2009. ZestyBeanz expanded its Indian office to Trivandrum Technopark in May 2011 and then to Kochi within one more year. The company has also set up an office in the United Arab Emirates in 2013. It also expanded to Germany with the support of Nuremberg Chamber of Commerce which selected Lepeesh as an eligible foreign young entrepreneur for setting up business in Germany.

The key team of ZestyBeanz comprises of school and college mates of Lepeesh which is a unique feature for the company in converting the friendship to a future career option. Ever since its inception the company has been able to achieve a fantastic growth rate. Starting its operations with less than 5 clients in 2009-10, ZestyBeanz has registered an exponential growth serving customers in about 60 countries. 90% of the revenue is generated from non-traditional markets like Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, France, Austria, Poland, Japan, South America, Africa etc apart from the traditional US, India, UK, Middle East and the Australian markets.

The company also has an R&D division which is now working together with the creators and architects of Odoo(Formerly OpenERP) in developing newer versions of the product. The company had the privilege to become a member in NASSCOM within a span of 2 years and also works closely with popular IT associations in Kerala like GTECH, CAFIT etc. ZestyBeanz as a social service is also involved in technical activities offering services for students and faculty of various leading engineering and management educational institutions in the country. This strategy is an attempt to fulfill Zesty’s knowledge sharing policy, being part of the Open Source community.
