Exploring Master Data Control

Installation

1. Get the module from Odoo App store
   https://apps.odoo.com/apps/modules/17.0/zb_master_data_control/
2. Extract the file from your system after the download finishes. You will be able to see a folder named- zb_master_data_control
3. Copy and paste this folder inside your Odoo Add-Ons path.
4. Now, open the Settings menu. Here, click on Activate the Developer Mode.
5. Then, open the Apps menu and click on ‘Update Modules List’.
6. In the search bar, remove all the filters and search zb_master_data_control.
7. You will be able to see the module in the search result. Click on ‘Install’ to install it.

Taking the example of Products Master to demonstrate the working

After Installation

After installing the module, while creating a new product user error occurs. Similar errors will be shown in other master data models like, Partners, BOM etc. Create, Edit, Delete has separate access rights.

Navigate to Settings and select a user.
Here added new user group sections Master Data Models and Master Data Access.

If you wish to create a new product, enable the Product access and Create access groups.

If you want to edit the existing products, enable the Edit Access group.

If you want to delete the existing products, enable the Delete Access group.

The same workflows are applied to the following master models as well.
1. Chart of Accounts
2. Product Categories
3. Customers
4. Suppliers
5. Unit of Measure Category
6. Unit of Measure
7. Bill of Materials
